The growth of The Lakeside Hammers Speedway team over the last year has been remarkable. Taken into new ownership for the 2007 season, the club has rocketed up the top flight speedway league in the UK, finishing a hugely successful fifth position, one place just outside the all important play off positions.
The play offs and the League title are the club’s ambitions over the next two seasons.
With superb media coverage throughout Essex, London and the South East echoing the excitement around this successful growth, The Lakeside Hammers mean Business. 2008 will see the SkySports team as regular visitors to the home of The Hammers, broadcasting LIVE racing as we take on the visiting teams of the Elite League. Speedway has become the third highest viewed sport on Sky TV and is one of the broadcaster’s most successful sports enterprises. We are also to be found on LIVE radio broadcasts throughout the season, with regular weekly features and race coverage on both BBC London and BBC Essex. This massive media exposure gives plentiful opportunity for sponsored corporate events and commercial opportunities.
We also work hard with the local community, promoting initiatives and supporting schools, and introducing local businesses to each other.
