Welcome to the high speed thrills and spills of Elite League Speedway ... and the Lakeside Hammers !

The growth of the team over the last year has been remarkable. Taken into new ownership for the 2007 season, the club has rocketed up into the top flight speedway league in the UK, finishing a hugely successful fifth position, one place outside the all important play-off positions. The play offs and the League title are the club's ambitions over the next two seasons.

Speedway is a fantastic night out and one of the world's most unique motorsports - in the Elite League, riders from two teams compete against each other on 500cc methanol-fuelled bikes capable of reaching speeds up to 80mph ! If that sounds exciting, bear in mind that these machines also have no brakes !
