Elite League A Fixture : Monday 10th May 2010
|
The Hammers went into this League match minus their captain Adam Shields and, therefore, used the ‘Rider Replacement’ facility to cover his rides. Ultimately that gave the hammers 6+1 from those 4 rides. A fit Adam, however, would have expected to have scored more than that.
The Hammers No.1 Krzysztof Kasprzak started poorly failing to score in his first two rides but when he swapped to his second machine for his final two rides he managed a win plus a second palace – that second place was worth 4 points as he took a ‘tactical Ride’ in heat 13.
Stuart Robson had a good match gaining two heat wins, in heats 5 and 8. The first of those victories came after a fantastic battle with Wolves rider Joe Screen. The lead changed about 8 times with Robbo eventually getting the win.
Kauko Nieminen started strongly winning heat 3 but then found points harder to come by scoring just one more point from his remaining 4 races.
Jonas Davidsson top scored for the Hammers with a well taken 13 points from his 6 rides. That included 2 heat wins and 4 points from his second ride, in heat 7, when on a ‘Tactical Ride’. The best of his wins came in heat 10 when he held of the challenge of Fredrik Lindgren. The Wolves No.1 does not drop many points around the Monmore Green circuit.
Paul Hurry started win a win in heat 2 but then only managed 2 third places in his other 3 rides despite being on the pace.
It was a frustrating evening for Daniel Davidsson. In his five rides he made the start on four occasions only to lose the lead and points scoring positions by going wide out of the second bend.
After the Hammers fell behind by 10 points after the first 6 heats they managed to keep the deficit the same until heat 12 with a series of five consecutive shared heats. Going into heat 12 the scores were 39-29 in favour of the home side but the Hammers conceded a 5-1 in that heat and despite gaining a 5-3b heat advantage in heat 13 the Wolves finished with a 5-1 and 4-2 to give them the win by 18 points.
The Hammers managed seven heat wins the difference between the two sides was the fact that the Hammers had last places in all bar two of the 15 heats.
