Who's stupid idea was it do a survey in the car park last night, we had to queue for about 20 mins what a waste of time, surely this could have been done some other way, maybe give out a slip of paper to give in or collected

If it's a girl they're gonna name it Sigourney, after the actress. And if it's a boy they're gonna name him Rodney, after Dave.

Thankfully we arrived early so we didn't have to wait. I did wonder if it would cause chaos nearer to start time and impact on the time the meeting got started. Didn't seem to, wonder if they did it until a certain time or until the last people arrived?

I agree it could have been done better via a paper leaflet or something. I suppose they can be sure that you answer if they stop your car.

Wonder if the results will be shown on the website.... would make interesting reading I would have thought..

I agree. My hubby rushes home from work and battles through the traffic so that we can get settled and relax in good time for the meeting, only to be confronted by Mark on the gate. I am afraid he didn't get very valid or useful answers from us!

Come on guys cut them some slack , we know it was a bit inconvenient but they want to get OUR feedback , we should commend them for listening to the fans.

For me rebuilding E.L. is THE top priority to 13/14 teams minimum.

We all know they DONT WANT to come up but this HAS to be addressed , we need K.L.,Birmingham,Sheffield and say Somerset in the E.L.for starters over next year or two even if it means fortnightly meetings to get missing top riders back in Britain and proper and balanced race programme.

i.e. If above achieved 14 league matches , 2 K.O. plus others if qualified , 1 top individual , 2 Play Offs if qualified Adding up to 17 - 19 meetings with weekly if need during peak summer period

Surely that will not be much different (apart from a better variety of opponents) to the number of league matches we have now. 14 as opposed to 16

I got to the Arena at 7.45 (clogged Tunnel - again!)and there the only sign of anyone doing a survey was the cones - no sign of anyone.

Good timing for a survey -

on a Wednesday !

thought it would have been more representative of a normal attendance on a Friday ?

whatever .....interest waning.

Unfortunately I was a bit sharp (for which I apologise) when asked about the possibility of meetings on a Wednesday and a Thursday. My reply, for which there appeared to be no box to tick, was "I don't care what night it is so long as it's the same night every week !"

I'm absolutely gobsmacked that people are moaning on here, because on this very same forum a while ago there were so many people moaning that the fans weren't asked for their opinions and that surveys of the fans should be taken....now when the club do what has been suggested people come on here moaning about it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got at the track at about 7:10pm and had to queue to give MY OPINION for about 5 minutes ( while some arrogant, rude idiots jumped the queue and nearly knocked over the VOLUNTEERS by racing through to get in !!!! Sad sad people !!!)...5 bl00dy minutes isn't that much to ask considering we all want to have ouir say is it ?????????????????????????????????????

Talk about you can't win no matter what you do !!!!

I am advised that the survey was stopped when it got closer to the time to start the meeting so that latecomers didn't get held up, so what is so wrong with doing what the fans asked for in the first place?

It seems like everyone likes to suggest things but gets annoyed when it affects their normal run of the mill routine !!! And I thought Spurs supporters were bl00dy fickle!!!!

As you have said Dave BETTER VARIETY that would be much different as opposed to meeting same teams two or even three times a season

Agree 100 % Nobby, I know it was a bit of a nuisance but they should be commended. As for filling in slips , tell you what i've done a few customers surveys in my time and they wouldn't get the same response as actually talking to punters , trust me I done both many times.

Nobby,

Just how do they expect to get a reliable answer to whether folks would prefer meetings on Wednesday or Thursdays or any other day of the week when they ask the question to attendees at a meeting on the off race night of Wednesday ????? Muddled thinking IMO

The regular Friday attendees clearly are disadvantaged.

Still I am hoping that Sittingbourne open next year. I desperataly need a change of scene. el speedway with such irregular fixtures is unattractive to me.

Even if we reach the "playoffs" they will take place on a Monday ? again nights that I will not be able to attend.

I reckon I have about 6 more meetings left this season (assumming KO cup qualification)

Beginning to feel the same way myself - went to the meeting last night, and had to fight my way through queues at the Dartford Crossing again, second meeting in a row, and this gets a bit tedious too.

The survey had finished by the time I got there, so wasn't held up by that

How the bl00dy hell do you know that it is a one off ??? they may decide to do it over a period of a few weeks, but maybe they won't bother if they read the ramblings of the selfish single minded miserable old gits that say they want one thing and then moan like **** about it when it happens....get real all of you for Christ sake...if you want to be given chance to have your say then put up with a minor amount of 'hardship' to be able to instead of moaning all the bl00dy time....you make my blood boil some of you !!!!

I applaud the club for canvassing the opinions of supporters - whatever night they chose to do it. Old Bob does have a point and perhaps the survey should be repeated on a Friday, if possible, to garner a wider range of opinions. I do have a high opinion of the Lakeside management and their attempts to involve supporters more. Unfortunately, whatever Lakeside want to do, there is always the hurdle of the BSPA to jump but, as has been amply demonstrated in the past, that can be completely insurmountable.

Perhaps a survey of those who no longer attend or have declared themselves dissatisfied should also be asked?

OB and others have said that they are bored, or have an issue with the ever changing race night or the misnamed "Fixture List". In my case, I am not bored with Lakeside Speedway but with Elite League speedway. When I visit Newport Speedway, I usually enjoy the meetings - possibly because it is somewhere different and the racing is generally less processional and honest. I also tend to enjoy individual competitions such as the GP.
