A long-serving Hammer, Leigh returns for his eleventh season with the Hammers and his fifth as a regular Elite League performer.

Leigh's career started in 1993 when he signed for his hometown club Ipswich. A successful debut at Poole was followed by a string of encouraging performances at First Division level.

Leigh remained with the Witches until the end of the 1996 season, moving on to Exeter following the formation of the Premier League. He enjoyed a successful season at the County Ground, helping the Falcons to Young Shield honours.

Leigh topped the Hammers' averages upon joining them in 1998 and represented them in the Premier League Riders' Championship on multiple occasions.
