Lubos Tomicek

Born March 14, 1986; Birthplace Prague, Czech Republic; Hammers Career 2007 - date

21-year-old Lubos Tomicek has been brought into the team to aid the club’s outside push for a play-off place with the hope of improving the away form of the Lakeside Hammers side.

Despite his tender years, Lubos is an experienced racer who comes from a family with a rich speedway history - both his grandfather and father were top international speedway riders.

Lubos started his British career at Oxford back in 2003 and joins the Hammers following the closure of the Cheetahs.

Hammers co-promoter Jon Cook thinks highly of Lubos, stating at the time of signing: "Lubos comes to us on his start of year average, which is a figure he had doubled before Oxford's scores were expunged from the records.

"We expect him to carry on that good form and see him as a long term signing and asset of the club. His British career has up until now been stop start and we think we can give him the support he needs to move to a consistent level of Elite League scoring over the seasons ahead.
